Default Anybody else show their Vettes?

I have always been into the car show scene, always with muscle Mopars though and even waaaayy back when (in the late 80's) with a custom yellow convertible Mazda lowrider truck.
Now, I am looking forward to showing my C5 this year. Here is a pic in show style complete with a custom show stand that I built to give all the specs and such. Lets see some pics of your Vette on the showfield.

My husband and I show both of our Corvettes in judged, Corvettes-only shows throughout the New England "season".

Here is a picture of my Grand Sport at a show in Connecticut where I won Best of Show! I've also attached one taken when it was in a World of Wheels show in Boston.

Rich after pouring so much into my car they still thought it was stock. Needless to say, no more car shows for me

Oh well..... they considered "modified" as bling mods such as hood seals and painted fuel rail covers

At an "all-Chevy" show last Fall.

At a Corvette only event in Central Oregon.

And I can tell you that green doesn't win many trophies !!

I show my Vette on occasion. I try to avoid "local" shows though as they tend to be more "personality contests" than actual CAR shows.

This one was in Escondido California. Not really a car show per se, more like a cruise-in event.

I showed my coupe "below" for a couple of years but got burnt out. Although my current vert is "showable" I prefer to just hang out.

the all corvetee shows I have attended tend to be overly concerned about stockness,,,,,dont like modified cars. Some are controlled by a group that are just too stuck up to have fun. I tend to NOT go to those anymore. I have shown cars in some sort for 30 plus years, I have found which ones are fun and offer the best bang for the buck. I have won and lost, but its ALL FOR THE FUN, not the trophy.

I have won nice trophys at some major shows with cars I own, so the little shows are , for me, social events, a time for fun. I usualy get in trouble for a burnout when I leave. I have been kicked out of vette only shows for these little exhibitions. Asked not to come back. I wont.
If I cant have fun, i dont wanna go again. If i spin my tires alittle, without endangering any one, wow,,,,me bad.
( I am not talking about a full burnout or excessive speed on the street, but in a parking lot, watching for people and not close to cars. )

one vette showasked me to remove my floor mats and other items to show the car.

I figure if I paid, i can leave it the way i want. I dont care if I win a crappy 5 dollar trophy at a local show, i want a door prize.

I go to look more than show. Yes, most little shows are political. Around here, you can go to a show on friday night, hit one on saturday and see the same exact cars , and the same ones win. BORE-ING...

so, I hit the cool shows, the ones that like me to exercize the car a wee bit, the ones that let me play around, the ones that have hooter girls, the ones that have nice door prizes ...or the ones that are located so the drive there and back is great.

sorry , I feel betternow.

Last spring I went to a local show, put on by a club that I do not belong to. I could see all the politics going on, but was lucky enough to (TIE- ) for a first place plaque.I think the other guy actually wiped down his wheels Go and enjoy, but understand there may be some behind the scenes Tom Foolery.

All the time. I have showed sports cars for over seven years now, but my MSG will be its third. I show all the time and love the chance to be with my car all day, the competition, but most of all the people. Besides, what a great reason to mod! The people like it and so do the judges.

Laurie

My first year showing this Vette with some mods....

And with time, more mods....
