I show mine all the time in the summer and have a garage full of trophies, but I really just do it for something to do. I really couldn't care less if I win anything. It's just a fun way to pass a Sunday in the summer and meet a lot of great people and see really nice cars.
I went to several non-corvette specific shows last year. I consider the entry/judging fees a donation for a good cause. My car is pretty much stock so I don't expect to win - just enjoy the people and the other cars.
That's it. How can anyone compete with Jim and that Z-06.......There are a lot of good looking cars in this thread.
I want to show mine this year but I know there are a lot of custom cars in my area. Not at a show but check my sig.

I love to show to my vette!!! I do agree however that some shows are primarly a popularity contest!!! Here is a pic with fellow forum memebers NOBIGSPOILERZ and EVIL_C5, and then just a gratutious single shot!!!
I have done a few shows and not to happy with how they judge the vettes. I like it when they give the ballots to the spectators, who judge cars by the way they look to them, not by a couple of judges with clip boards judging based on perfection! Cars that are trailered in and out are going to be perfect compaired to cars that are driven and enjoyed. If the show is not giving away big money, just cheap trophies, let the spectators be the judges, they are the ones that come to the show for enjoyment, they should pick what they like in different catagories.
I use to do a lot of shows in the past-got out of it because I took it too seriously and now I 'm back into it for the fun. The trophies that you thought were so important end up as being nothing more than dust collectors and end up in the trash. (and I could have filled a dumpster full) I'll get back out of it again when winning a trophy becomes more important than going for the fun. That would be my best advice to people just getting into the game.
I do enter my car in some shows and have even won a few trophies. It's not about winning and losing(although that's nice), it's about getting together with a bunch of vette lovers and meeting some nice people and seeing a bunch of awesome rides.
