widen rims....
I've seen this done and i was wondering if someone knows of a company that does this. i had a web site saved on my computer but i lost it. theres a comapny that does this and is good, can anyone help me? thanks

Vaughn Machine in Monrovia, CA (626 358-6413) made me some 18 x 12.5 2001 thin spokes using factory 18 x 9.5 forged rears with HRE spun aluminum inner barrels.
$300 per wheel (you supply the donor wheels)
Wheels America (the Dallas Branch) can also widen wheels up to 2 inches. http://www.fixrim.com/

Yes, there exist a number of servicers that "widen" wheels across the country. AND, the two that I highly recommend have already been mentioned above. BUT, by far, I advise you to contact Eric Vaughn (see above), whom has one of the longest histories in such specific wheel customizing (wheel widening) experience, and, is therefore, quite competent. Also, do keep in mind that there will be a visible weld bead (however subtle) on the inner wheel barrels to establish proper adhesion to the new rim portion, and, therefore, create a dependable weld.

Interesting info. I think a set of widened stock wheels (thin spokes) would look very good.
