I have a BP performance power duct on my 99 a4 and it appears to be hitting hood when closed. Its as low as I can get it on the rad support but still hits. The hood closes, I just don't know if I want to leave it that way. Just wondering if anyone else has or has had this problem.
I have a twin cone intake and a smooth coupler. I trimmed coupler to fit better but it still hits.
I have this duct and had the problem at first but made a few adjustments and it fits fine now. Be sure your couplers are completely snug against the MAF and TB.

I have a very slight impression of the C5 emblem on my hoodliner but nothing that would pressure on the hood fiberglass. It's been that way for 2 years now with no issues...I'm running a Vararam on mine so don't know if that affects the position
I do know I had about 90 minutes into it the first time I set it up but once I got it, it hasn't moved
I had their Vortec ram air installed at Carlisle a few years back
on my 93 A4. the same prblem happened to me. when the hood
closed it hit to the point it slid off the throttle body. half way home i discovered this when i noticed smoke comin out. OIL LEAK,
when i got home had it checked out....intake manifold gasket
Blown, $600 repair for that piece o CRAP.
I have the same problem with the WCC Carbon Fiber duct. Tried everything including cutting down the coupler. The problem is the aftermarket duct is at least 1" higher and has more of an arch. It's rests lightly on the hood. Hope I don't have an issue down the road. I'll keep an eye on it and if I have to I'll switch it back to stock.

Thats my problem exactly, I also cut down the coupler which made it better but not perfect.
Might it be a difference in the construct of the duct? They were different (barely) for earlier C5's. CAI placement (if cut into shroud) might also be stuffin' the duct a bit. Remember that stock coupler was a flexible (accordian) style.
