Default Custom Paint Idea.....Thoughts?

Ok so...I recently bought this 00 C5 coupe that was in pretty good condition, for a daily driver that is. It needed some paint touch up and now someone hit the front and split so i'm left with front end and paint repairs there too. Basically its more economical to repaint the whole car than match and blend the damaged areas. I was wanting to change the color but really don't think I want to afford that, ha. I'm thinking if I keep the car the oem Sebring Silver color for its base, then maybe go with jet black as a custom option I'll get my new paint job and a change of looks for the car w/o the high pricetag of a full color change. I've got an idea and would like to know everyones thoughts...or shoot me ideas if you have better ones! Either way the car is getting a full repaint. Remember these are crude photochops!

its different, but i just saw a guy in the C6 section that did stripes in a darker silver than the color. If you do that design, maybe try a silver just a bit darker so its not so in yoru face. Try a photochop with a light gunmetal silver

NOPE - BUT, why don't you find pics of the '07 Daytona pace car Vette - it was white and had an American Flag painting down the side - try photochopping something like that and re-post - the Daytona car looked great, IMHO

... I think you are close to having something that looks really good and different. However, with that big of a contrast, you are also very close to having something that doesn't come out near as good looking as you imagine it to be.

I agree with the post to check out some pace cars. Over the last few years a LOT of pace cars have had some great color combos. Some are pretty similar to what you have in mind there.

Haha...well seriously I didn't think that was going to go so bad...I do kinda like the idea but not sure enough to paint my car with it or perhaps the quick/poorly rendered chop is hindering the idea...I'm a member still of another forum that might be a younger/ less traditional crowd and they liked the idea with slight changes. I wasn't trying to be ricey with it and am not into flames or wavey side stripes so...So i'm stumped! I am now just considering the SS repaint and just adding the CE stripes tho...

Well, there are quite a few young/non-traditional people on this forum too, for instance, I'm only 25. But UGLY is UGLY no matter how you spin it.

Try painting small things first. Like the rear valence right above the exhaust, but before the license plate.

I don't like these 'stickers' but they will give you an idea of how great of an effect small things can have.

Remember, it's a lot easier to add on if you like where the car is going, rather than take off !

Needs to be toned down quite a bit. But in the end, it's your car.
