Default Caliper paint

Guys, what is the best caliper paint, G2 or duplicolor systems? I don't feel like taking brakes apart to spray so I figure I will go with a brush on kit.

How does it look, wear etc?

Thanks

Wow they look great. So you just used a brush and painted them on the car?

How did you do the "corvette" in white?

Default Rustoleum

RWS is right, Rustoleum is the best deal going. You don't have to take apart the calipers, just mask around them. Take off your wheel, mask around the rotor, clean up the caliper with prep or alcohol and a small wire brush and spray away. Two coats and then sand down the word "Corvette" with an emery block from a beauty shop and then shoot the entire caliper with a coat of clear coat poly. Should last over a year! Good luck!!

I painted mine Yellow with the Duplicolor kit. The brush in the kit sucks, so get you a decent brush. Apply in coats, letting each coat completely dry. I put on 4 coats. When it was dry, I went over the "CORVETTE" letters with a black Magic Marker.

i used the brush on duplicolor kit. It is a ceramic type of paint and has a great finish when dry. Very strong

Default $12 duplicolor kit plus a tube of white touch up paint for the letters

Says it all. Do MULTIPLE coats and don't wait too long. Says it must dry 24 hours between coats if you wait more than a half hr or so. Mine look great with about 4 or 5 coats. Did all 4 and have more than half a can left. BIGHANK

I only did my fronts since I only have 2 jack stands at my parents house (ill do the rears when It stops raining ) I did 4 coats waiting 20 mins between um. To get the letters just take a razor blade and scrap the paint off of them (easier than it sounds) you can keep scraping and itll get to the chrome looking layer thats below the old weathered top layer and it looks really good. I still have 3/4's a can of paint left so Ill have alot left over as well once the rears are done

I used Duplicolor, they include cleaner, brush, and tape. 4 coats, nice and shinny (ceramic paint), been 2 years, still looking good.

You should consider painting the rotor top hats and edges at the same time. I used high heat rusteleom (sp?) silver spray paint (did it after the above picture). No need to mask rotors, brake pads will clear it off. You must rotate rotors to paint all of the surface.

Someone said to put chapstick over the letters and its easier to get the paint off when scraping it. I forgot to, but if you can remember its worth a try

No need to take apart anything. Duplicolor kit works well. I put Chapstick on the lettering and the paint wipes right off. Use a Dremel with a soft wire wheel for the final shine up. Don't forget to toss the lip balm afterwards.

I've had great success with just regular paint on my previous Vettes, no need for "Caliper Paint"... I've even Autocrossed with calipers painted with regular paint and had no problems.

That being said, I did paint mine with the Duplicolor kit, that stuff was a PITA, mine was thick and sticky but after 3 coats it turned out good...

I'm a Rustoleum (Satin Black) and chapstick man. Sounds like some kind of dodgy habit

Has anyone used the DupliColor blue on the calipers on an Electron Blue car?? Is the color close to that shade of blue??
