Flowmaster Exhaust

I'm pulling my F/M catback off ASAP. I bought a Corsa catback that I'm putting on mine here in the next week. I'm just saying if it's that old flowmaster sound you're looking for, you may be a little dissapointed. I know I was!

Mine came with the Flowmasters on it and I cut them off! They sounded... funky and the tips were just flat out ugly! I put Corsa Indys on.... Very happy with em.
have been like 1,000 B&B Bullet ones
But yes I suspect the Flowmasters should sound especially
good at idle..
But people who don't like the FM sound could you be abit more
specific about what you don't like..cause that could be the
very thing that someone else does like about FlowMasters

Unfortunately I have no way of posting a sound clip for you. Sorry!!!
Let me just state for the record though that my reply above is based on my experience with having Flowmaster systems installed on close to 20 different cars. THIS is the only one I can't stand them on. I even have a Single flowmaster on my '96 Z28 that sounds 10 times better than the 2 flowmasters on my C5.
MAN I WISH I HAD A WAY OF RECORDING BOTH OF MY CARS FOR YOU!!!

For anyone who's ever owned an older car with at least 2.5" to 3" exhaust w/two chamber Flowmasters mounted before the rear axle, you know what that Flowmaster "TONE" is all about. Because the mufflers are now mounted all the way on the back of the C5's, it no longer has that infamous sound. Maybe with a big cam I could see them sounding ok, but if you guys are really convinced Flowmasters sound good at idle on a basically stock motor, then my guess (or opinion) is that you're probably not in to what a REAL aggresive system sounds like. And by the way, WOT will make ANY C5 exhaust system sound "OK"....even the stock ones.
To who ever said flowmaster tips look no different than Corsa Tips....all I can say is.......
If you're running 4 round tips with your Flowmaster exhaust, then somebody else obviously welded them on after the fact. Flowmaster tips look NOTHING like any other tips out there. They come with a dual "Split Oval" tip.
Look, this is obviously one of those never ending debates that could go on and on. It's really nothing more than a matter of personal preference, which is the case in most threads where the person wants opinions about something. That being said, I'd be willing bet anyone here that if we did a Poll on which exhaust system sounded best on a C5, Flowmaster would be almost OBSOLETE in the standings. But lets not forget, I'm the first person who would choose a Flowmaster exhaust over ANY other muffler system out there, if it was on any other car than a C5. THAT's how much I love the real flowmaster sound.
My personal opinion is:......if you want a quite, non-agressive, stock sounding exhaust system on your car that might make a few select people say: "oh that sounds goooood",.......then by all means go with a Flowmaster Catback. If you're wondering why More people here have Corsa or Borla posted in their Signature than "ANY OTHER" system,.....then think about what you just read!!!
