Are you sure you're reading the code correctly? I've never seen a code witha PC prefix. normally the code would be a letter and 4 numbers. P0xxx is OK.
P0492 on other GM cars is the secondary air injection system but it doesn't show on my list for the Vette. Is it H (history) or C (current)? If its H, reset and see if it reoccurs.
with Herringchoker. Check the gas cap as astart. If you have a bad seal it'll bring on the check engine light.
The only times I have had a check engine light come on was after filling up on a hot day with BP Amoco Ultimate gasoline.
If the ethanol content of the gasoline is high, combined with things to enhance intake airflow ( CAI, PORTED throttlebody etc) the car can run too lean, hence a check engine light.
Try filling up with another brand of gas and ensure the cap is tight...
I got that one!! P0492 is the secondary air injection system. I had that code about month ago. Took it to the dealer and they replaced both A.I.R. check valves. One was bad and GM Tech Service told them to go ahead and replace both. The right side requires intake manifold removal. According to the mechanic, it could also be an air pump or a sensor problem. Check valves took care of mine. Funny how that code doesn't show up in any lists. Good luck!
I took my car to the Chevy dealer. They ran the scan and said that the code P0492 was the (Bank 2 - O2 sensor 1). It is order.
Thanks for all the help!

Glad you found the problem. Hope there's not too much Corvette tax on the bill
FYI, I had P0492 and the dealer replaced both check valves at a cost of over $400. The dealer does heavy Corvette volume and told me the check valves are the most common source of the Check Engine light.
Afterward I searched the forum and found a post on how to clean the check valves. Basically you squirt some carb cleaner in the hose. I wish I'd found this first.
