Weird - i just did the C5Z06 Sways and C6Z06 shocks, and i had my 300lb friend compress the rears and use mondo zip ties to hold 'em down. Once we zip tied them, they were Really easy to install - just slipped them around the control arms and tie rod, lined them up - then cut the zip ties... Cake! :-)

To the OP, like i said I just installed 04 Z06 Sways and 06/07 Z06 Shocks replacing my Factory F45 (Select Ride) suspension. On KDW2s, this setup is amazing. Vastly superior to the factory ride... And very affordable! I picked up the sways slightly used for $210, and the Shocks bran new for about $215 (Gene Culley)

This afternoon i'm driving to a dealer ship to use a Tech II to remove the Factory F45 option from the BCM.

OK Brad, excuse my ignorance...I am dumping the F45 shocks and going to Bilsteins. I assume that this fix is for the error code? Where do the resistors get soldered to?

Thanks, Greg

Brad, my car doesn't have a 3 position switch. So I can safely assume I don't have the F45, right? If I don't have it, then I can just upgrade to even the C6 Z06 shocks and sways without any reprogramming issues?

No ignorance Bro, we all learn.

When you are removing the shocks, you will see a blue connector where the wire is running from the old shock. Discconnect it from under the car and remove the shock as you normally would. As close to the shcok as possible, cut the wire from the shock.

Use small wire cutters to strip back the cover to reveal a black and white wire. Strip back the covers on the two wires to bare. Take your resistor and solder it in between the black and white wire. Tape it off real good to prevent leaks. Go back under the car and reconnect it to the blue connector. Repeat this procedure at all four shocks and your good to go.

I have a video showing how to do this. for some reason my server is a little slow, but if you go to Itunes you can downlaod it there and follow along for the directions.

Good luck and let me know if you need any assisitance.

Brad

I'm about 99 percent sure that if you dont have the three selector switch then you dont have the ride control. One other way to be sure is to look at your shocks and see if you have a wire running from them to a blue connector under the car. No wire=no ride control.

Good Luck

Thanks, I'm getting the shocks in a few days and I'll take a look at it. I'll get back to you if I have any questions...

If only I had seen this a few weeks ago I wouldn't have spent $169 + S&H on the stupid simulators from Corvette Garage.

I wonder if they would take them back if I tell 'em I don't need them anymore??? PHSH...... I guess the only way to find out is to call them. (DUH)
Oh well, I guess if they don't I'll go ahead and use them since they're paid for and they're already here. (Still would've been nice to have that extra $159. for something else)
