Default another tire / wheel sizing question

I have searched all threads and could not find my answer..

on a 19 x 10.5 inch rim (for rear) which tire size to go with?

Tire rack recommends 275/35-19 ..

Is anyone running this size combo??

Thanks, Paul

IMHO that is too narrow. I would go with a 295 or 305 width tire.

A 275 is going to look stretched. Definitely go w/a 295 or up.

For me, to some extent, it would depend on what size the front tire is. Do you know what you'd be running?

A 295/30/19 tire will be too short. Get a 305/30/19 instead.

I'm running PS-2's 265/35/18 and 305/30/19 and have 0 problems. No ABS or traction control issues. Bill

These are perfect sizes.

They actually equate to the identical diamater front and back as the OEM Z06 tires. Which pretty much means no issues anywhere.....

I disagree about the 295 being "too short"; its diameter is still greater than his proposed front 265/35-18. Regardless, the 305/30 is also a perfect selection, but it's nice to know your options as not all tires come in all sizes.

GO TO THE HEAD OF THE CLASS!

And, just as Bill, and, my good friend Glenn has previously mentioned in regards to matching the perfect tire sizes for the example wheel sizes in question above: For an 18X9.0 Front Wheel, a 265/35-18 IS IDEAL! And, for an 19X10.5 inch Rear Wheel, a 305/30-19 IS IDEAL. Well Done! Enjoy!

I selected my tire sizes with the help of Glenn and Chip (willfulone). My car looks good and handles great. Right Glenn No problems at all. Again thanks Glenn and Chip!!!

Do the rear tires stick out?

I'm also thinking of buying a set of CCW's and new tires, but there is a law here in Finland which says that tires mustn't stick out at all or you have to put flares to your car. If the 305/30/19's do, what sizes would you guys recommend?

If you buy CCW's, Discuss with John what needs to be done. That way he can tell you the limitations (probably a 2" max lip on rear) and how things will fit. C5dream2004 has something from CCW that may work very well for you. PM him and/or search his recent threads.

My conservative setup might require flares in Finland... unless they tilt back a bit more with some more settling (setup listed in signature below).

You can easily keep those 305's from sticking out. It all has to do with the correct POSITIVE offset of the wheel. It's not the tire, but the wheel offset that will ultimately place the tire inward or outward to the spot you want. When you see a 295 or 305 sticking out too far on a car it's becasue the wheel does not have enough positive offset to it... The more positive offset on a wheel the further inward it goes.

This is a pic of my car that Glenn lowered for me ...as you can see the proper offset keeps the wheels and 305 tires inside the top of the fender. The tread does not stick out.
