HOTWHEELS....FOR REAL !
get these through a BMW part catalog ?
one size fits all C5's ?
do they snap in and out or once snapped in
there in permanently ?
Yes, to all the questions...get the round pucks though. The square ones are available, but they may cause problems later if you decide to install after market metal or composite rocker protectors. There are after market sources (site vendors) that sell an aluminum combination puck/rocker protector. You should check out ELITE ENGINEERING for those. I like the simplicity of these composite BMW pucks for my Z16.
You can order the pucks through the BMW source from that discussion or any friendly BMW dealership. They should be about $6.95 each and you'll want four. Some unscrupulous EBAY sellers have them for over $50.00 (4).
Snap them in and they're always there unless you strike something to dislodge them.
go cheap and buy regular hockey pucks and use screw-in eye hooks from the hardware store. it does the same job. by the way, you don't need four----two at best.

If you ever need to put the car on a lift that uses the adjustable arms, you'll need four.
I got the BMW pucks, they were inexpensive, fit perfect, arrived fast and you have the option to leave them in permanently or take them back out if you like.
True, but most of us DIYers don't have a four arm lift. I only take my car to one person that uses a four arm lift and they have their own pucks.
Not being argumentative, but I carry mine with me - circumstances like a flat tire may dictate where I need to have the car lifted, and if they have a four-arm lift, and no pucks, I'm covered.

I liked this idea...so, I ordered mine today. Now all I need is a lw profile jack...working on that too.
Yeah! What's with the round thingie in the center of the board?
The round thingie goes down into the jack pad, keeps the board centered and prevents it from sliding off the jack when positioning under the car. The little clips on each side center it on the crossmember and keep it centered front to back. Making your life less complicated it's "dndrsn-ized".
