YES I was there that day... the damn G&W team (or were they Synergy yet) was testing they're daytona prototype out on track w/ us HPDE loosers 
The car blew by me in the uphill esses so fast I didn't know what was going on... I just held my line and let him pass me.
That car was powered by a worked over M5 motor at the time and had 7 forward gears.... he was 1/2 way down the back straight by the time I was through the uphill esses
