I just put the Zo6 wheels on my car and I'm getting a tick tick ticking noise coming from somewhere. It's very slight but steady and increases as speed increases so obviously something in the rotation of one of the wheels.
Details: I put these wheels on a 1998 C5 coupe. The tires on the wheels are 295/35/18 rear and 265/40/17 front.
The tires I had on the car were 285/35/18 rear and 245/40/17 front on wagon wheels (thank God they are gone....by the way! Car looks about a million times better)
Where should I start looking? It sounds like something is catching or rubbing.
Are you still using your tire sensors? If so check to see if it has come off of the metal band. I had that happen one time, you should be getting a message on your dic though if that has happened.

I havent re-learned the sensors yet. That's tomorrows project.
It's not something in the tread. I know what that sounds like. This is different. Its a deeper toned ticking then a pebble or nail. I bought these tires and wheels all mounted and ready to go, just came off other guys car.
So after I re-learn the senors, it should tell me if one has come loose?
Check the center cap of the wheels.....I had one that didn't fit snug and
made a noise......If you have one loose, just add some black tape around
the inside prongs to make it tight!!!
Check underneath at the back wheels. The parking brake cable may be hitting a wheel weight on the inside of the rim. I had this happen and simple fix to tie back the cables. Good luck.

Check the e-brake cable and sensor wires at the rear wheels. Make sure they are not too close to the inside of the wheel.
Does the noise change or stop if you; turn the wheel, brake, or accelerate?
Seems to be less on acceleration and more on braking.
Now that I have read these responses, I think it could be a wheel weight hitting the E brake cable because I noticed the weights were placed very close to the inside edge on all the rims!
I'll mess with it in the morning (and take some pics, the Zo6 wheels look awesome on my Arctic White coupe)..... because right now I'm kicked back with an ice cold Yeng Ling

That's what it was. All fixed!
I figured out that was the problem by driving down the street and pulling up the brake handle slightly and the noise stopped.
I have said it before and I'll say it again, this forum is the BEST source of information in the world
