Yeah for sure! We have a lot of Vettes out there that are our daily babies.....uh...I mean drivers and granted i'm sure not taken the best care of in certain cases and are ready for some TLC...trust me i'm bout to drop $750 on a beater pick up truck to drive when its nasty outside here in Houston, TX...I really want to keep my 00 C5 looking sharp and clean as with the new paint job, weather seals and interior replacement treatment has really turned my C5!

Check for the build sheet in the front frame cross member while you've got the front fascia off. That's where they put them in the factory when the car is built.

Best of luck on the project.

Default New Pix

Well its been a week into the repaint project and as you can see from the pix. I striped down the car and the shop has sanded down the whole body and performed the necessary body work and fiberglass and filler and has primed and sanded the car again with poly lok and another primer seal to get the car ready for paint Monay. Should get around 7 coats of base coat color with light sanding and 5 or so coats of clear. Following paint next week the shop is going to wet color sand the car, compound it and then run a finish polish...that alone is going to take a few days so hopefull will get the car back Monday the 9th...so good progress on her is being made. Anyone notice a custom front end touch perhaps?

Well hey gang! Its been 2 weeks today since I disassembled most of the vette and took it in to the shop for a complete exterior repaint. Well last week was the major body prep and front end reconditioning. This week while I was out of town the car and all the pieces were painted the sebring silver, clear coated with a color wet sand, compound, polish and brize (whatever that is...?). The car was going to be ready today however the shop was not satisfied with the way the front bumper cover turned out so they are going to do a bit more work, strip the paint and redo it...so perhaps Monday. Pix will follow but my gosh...as i've needed a spare car to hop around in and will need as the vette assembly will prob take me 2 weeks so I don't mess stuff up...well a new project is born...a 95 s10 blazer ...body work done and in great shape going in for paint after the vette is done...turbo system already planned for afterwards...haha...I've always wanted a sports car and a truck!but wow! Truck will cost me $3500 finished...can't beat that for a lil sport truck...will update as it all finishes!

looking good so far, but you kept the BSMs on there for the sanding? I would of thought you might want to take them off and sand the entire car, if you ever want to remove them later you will have some major issues

Keep the pics coming

My thoughts exactly. Take them off and get underneath them, then put them back on after the paint is done.

Eh...i'm never not going to want them off the car and they are sealing them anyways...hopefully it won't be an issue...Looks like Monday or Tuesday...we'll see. Sux though I gotta bring her home in pieces so won't get to enjoy it in full until the next week or two till I get it all together.
