On a long trip I would also carry a drop cloth and scissors jack. Have you ever tried plugging a really flat tire? Easier to get it up in the air a little (assuming you can get the jack under there) before trying to plug it. I also carry sealant for really emergency situations when gettin "out of Dodge" is more important than saving a tire pressure sensor.
I carry all of the above and more. Also a spare TP sensor I had. So if I had to I can even put in a new sensor. Don't get a sensor message on the DIC that way. Think I might go to runflats on the Z. Another story I know.....
I replaced my rear OEM runflats last week with GSD3s from Tirerack and yes they are more quiet, smoother, and great in the rain. When Goodyear makes the fronts I will replace them too!
For what its worth, I do have runflats on the front and GSD3s on the rear but I don't feel any safety problems with this temporary combination. I don't autocross the car.
I have been looking for about 4 weeks for some for my Z, and they are out of stock and out of production. Front 275x40x17 were run two weeks agon. No date for the rears.
I put GS D3's on my vert last summer. I couldn't believe the difference. It does feel like a completely different car. I had a tough enough time finding them in July but got mine at Discount Tire. Sams Club had some too.
