running open header unsafe?

running open header unsafe?
My friend is building me a straight pipe set up but doesnt have a lift at his shop, I was wondering if i remove my exhaust (just mufflers) would it be unsafe or cause any problems to drive about 10-20 miles to his shop like this.
(other than the fact of it being loud which isnt a problem to me)

I ran my car for about 2 weeks as a DD while I traded exhaust with a member. No problems from cops and I loved the sound! i wish it could sound like that all the time. Ive even debated removing my rear exhaust and selling it. With the money I get for selling the rears i can pay my tickets
