DFW engine work recomendations please
I can select a shop (via insurance) to take care of my hydro lock engine diagnois and associated repair work (whatever that ends up being).
So, please provide shops in the DFW area please. I live in NW Fort Worth, TX.
Thanks, Glenn

LG comes to mind. If not them then 21st. All the guys up at LG are great and will take care of you and your car.

Probably can get a "new" engine replacement cheaper than rebuilding yours.

Glenn,
As a note - John at 21st Century normally has a number of "new" C6 engines around (people changing them out for the LPE 427's). Worth a try.

I think both shop are highly recommended but I have done all my business with LG and have never had a problem. Great guys and a pleasure to deal with.

If GM says LS1 crate motor, I will ask how much to upgrade to an LS6.

Good for you, go for it Glenn. I just read your email. Did they confirm bent or broken rods yet? I know when I did a similar thing this past August I just about got sick and I couldn't eat for two days until they told me the complete news and extent. I sure hope the best for you in this and that you won't have to pay out of pocket. I was furtunate the insurance actually was going to cover it.

You couldn't eat? I'm doing the opposite, just warmed up some dessert.
I hope to know something mid-day Thursday.
I did mention asking about the cost difference on an LS6 to my wife, and she actually took it well. She teased me a bit, but I remained male.

ls6 long block around $5400, complete motor about $7400, not installed price from Scoggins Dickey etc. Labor about $1500 or so ($90 an hour in DFW area) at dealers. good luck.
