Curious as to what the C5 owners think of this one.

To be honest with you, I think that's pretty cool. The C5 to C1 was OK, but I like this one much better.
I wouldn't do it, but I like it if that makes sense.

It's ok... (I wouldn't buy it though)
But by trying to combine the C1, C2 & the C5, it really doesn't have its own looks.

I think you'll find the C5 crowd pretty evenly split on these things. Still, 99% of us appreciate the craftsmanship.
Personally I don't like them -- I think the C5 looks pretty darn amazing in it's own right -- no need to pretend to be something else.

My buddy owns three of them....
Each has a VE interior, custom Ronal wheels, Kewl Smoothies, Baer Eradispeeds +1 conversion, headers, and all sorts of other custom touches.
He has a red one that is due to be delivered in the next couple of days, a blue one (similar to Nassau Blue) and a white one. The craftmanship is excellent, but I agree, the conversion is not for everyone. I've driven them - they are all Dynamatted, and believe it or not - they feel different than a stock C5.
This one was sold at SEMA this year by Keith -

I once owned a '61. If I had the money to burn - you bet! Ahhhh, the memories this would bring back. (Plus C5 pinnings to boot.....)

Upgrading the mechanics on a REAL '62 is much cooler and better looking. The long slopped windshield looks retarded on that body.

Yeah already brought up in a previous post but my opinion still stands. Definately looks pretty bad ars but I wouldn't spend that much on it.

This conversion looks great at certain angles, whereas a stock C5 looks incredible from all angles.
The real spoilers for me are the stock high back seats and modern stock wheels. They both look terribly out of place with the rest of the design.
It's also too much money for what it is. I could see spending upwards of twenty grand on a conversion like this, maybe. But not sixty plus.

There is one of these conversions locally (DFW).
Overall the build is really nice.
Two issues:
1: Only stock size wheels are allowed.
2. The windshield is somewhat distracting from the C2 original looks (remember it is the C5 unit, and is 'swept- back' vs the almost 'up- right on the C2's).
Would I do one - yes if it were not for the wheel issue.

I am sure some like it, but while I like minor modifications, cross-generation conversions just don't look good to me. If I decide I want a mid-year, I will buy one (somehow, some way).
The C5 wheel base is not in the same proportions as the good 'ole classic C2. It just doesn't look right. But, if you have the $$$ and a perfectly hot looking C5 roadster to ba$tardize, go for it.
