I had the same problem. Kept checking the fluid and was concerned about replacing it. Learned that there is a seal that seats differently when the weather is cold and will reseal in warmer weather. I'll see if I can find the post and forward it to you. It mentions the material the seal is made out of. The response from a Chevy Tech who rebulds them.
I cleaned any and all fluid off the undercarriage and sure enough, warmer weather, more driving, no leaks. The level is the same. There is also a vent that sprays some out if it is over filled.
I am putting on a cooler so I'll check the level again.

My '99 coupe, A4 w/30K does the same thing. Over the winter, I'll get 4-5 drops on the floor from the front of the trans. When driven, it's greatly reduced but not eliminated. I always have a little oil around the vent. I'm guessing it's a rear main seal issue.
