Default Say goodbye to Goodyear

What's another good set of tires to use on my 02. After a lot of research I'm ready to buy Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP's, any comments are appreciated.

I put those same Michelins on my car recently and I really like them. They ride smoother than the GY and are quieter too.

What kind of driver are you? Do you need weather tires?

I would look into the Nitto's too. I have had the 555RII's and are currently running the NT01's and would not change them for anything.

If weather is a factor the 555RII's are good. If dry weather is all your worried about look at the NT01's.

Their treadwear is 100 so they will not last as long as a normal tire but again, that depends on you. If you get them heat cycled that will help out but if you like to burn out or get sideways don't get them.

I've decided on the Michelin's too. Michelin has changed their ZP to RF. I checked around and found the best price at Discount tires. There isn't a Discount Tire store where I live , but I will Call them and they will ship the tires with free shipping according to their web site. They also have a list of reccomended installers, which in my case is a local shop that specializes in aftermarket wheels, so they can handle the tires/wheels and have the experience to properly mount them.

I have a set of wheels with the A/S ZP tires and another with a set of Pilot Sport PS2s. Either way you won't be disappointed. Only thing weird about the ZPs is the sidewall profile. Looks a little strange after you are used to the goodyears.

I like the BFG's. You can see the tread pattern pretty good in this pic.

And I just put the Michelins on and what a big difference;of course non runflats would be better but I feel safer with the runflats. I think it's Directirediscount that I got them from for $1088 shipped.

I just ordered a set from Discounttiredirect.com when you order them make SURE they understand that the tires must say ZP on the side there is a great deal of confusion out there even from Michelin.

I had trouble finding the correct tires (run flats) using their web site. Finally, after several emails I got the #'s I needed to order Pilot Sport A/S run flats.

Front: 245/45ZR17 95YRF DIR (34182)
Rear: 275/40ZR18 99YRF DIR (34204)

Notice the RF in the #'s for run flat ( Bruce at Discount Tire said that Michelin was using RF for run flat instead of their old ZP for zero pressure. Also the #'s in () are Discount Tires stock numbers. The DIR is for directional tread.

For runflats, I'm running a set of Firestone Firehawks. Very good tires IMO.

America's Tire Co. is the same company as Discount Tires. Hope this helps.
