it's more of a question but i have a C5 and it's running great!
the only problem is a little tranny issue that only comes up sometimes.
i have a B&M shifter in it and it seems that it won't "go" into first. it shifts easily into all gears most of the time. but sliding it into first at a red light after "coasting in" with the clutch in. or sometimes just shifting it into first can be an "issue" i can shove or force it in (clutch is in of course) but more than not it shifts smooth into first. it also "clicks" loudly into the first three gears.
it's kind of a pain.
any idea what the problem is?
i adjusted the shifter arm "rotator cup thingy" (sorry i don't know what you call it) but it's part of the car that is the socket the shifter goes into and not the shifter ball. anyway that is in the middle of it's travel and does not seem to be binding.
This is fairly common - at least I think I know what you are describing. Next time this happens try and shift into 2nd, 3rd, or whatever and then go back to 1st. I would bet your problem would be solved. I believe the route is just a small syncho/gear mismatch from when you shift out of a higher gear and then back to 1st.
