I wish i had that lift this winter, it would of been alot better than laying on that cold floor. Good luck with the gear swap, looks like you guys have it under control
For those who don't know,I had to do this if I wanted to retain the brace without the annoying vibration it caused. The uppermost 2 rods are just to tight against the upper rear deck compartment. There are plenty of lines tucked under there and it was so close it made all kinds of vibrations while idling in drive,as well as a Gawd awful noise at 70 mph and up, under load
It drove me crazy!!!!....AND I initially thought I screwed the rear or tranny up good, but it was just this close tolerance that was the bug.
Now, she is quiet as a church mouse
DTE states that most all cars they tested where fine, but ocassionally one would make noise (apparantly due to slight manufacturing variance either by GM ,dte or both)
SO, if you are plagued with this annoying problem, this is the fix!
And I probably spent as much time modifying this thing than we did on the whole swap

It was definately helpful getting things loosened all up and the h-pipe,tunnel plate and exhaust all ready to drop.
For the final dropping of the cradle and rear,we could only be less than 24" from the floor and the torque tube,or we would not be able to lift it back in. There were also NO LOCKS that low on the lift!!!
Even though it is brand new,I was not comfy under it AND a car without a safety catch of some kind
So as in the pic below, you can see that we had to come up with a way to support the lift at the proper lowered height without trashing his new lift or us.( notice the 3k lb. jackstand and block of wood between the lift rails)
Plenty of time was spent getting as much height as possible w/out being to high
I also spent most all of the second day on my back dealing with the brace and stuff.

I dunno. You had to cut a big chunk out of the brace and it was still close.
I am no expert, but based upon seeing two different braces from two different production runs, I would have to assume the big variances are with DTE, not GM, IMHO.

My sincere apologies. I did not see that you used the word "please"
I think you need to take a short vacation to get away from the frenzy that is called "California". Sunny; BIKINI clad, brown skinned wahine; Hawaii..! I'll keep a case cold should you decide to fly over.
