Best luck with the new ride... maybe you should start a new trend and wave at other Subs... :
Sure, because we all know how well the wave is doing among Vette drivers.
I will definately still go to some of the get togethers and obviously I haven't dissappeared from the forum. Though I do find myself drooling over in the C6 Z06 forum now and again.

Juan that is a great looking American SUV you purchased and will serve the family well and we will see you back in a Vette soon and when the new Vette SS comes out the C6Z will drop in price as they will not be the king of the hill anymore

Juan, The local Dealer just got one of 299 made (and the ONLY white one) Ron Fellows Signature '07 Z. Should I put in a bid for you? Some guy from Texas offered $20K over list and they DECLINED! WTF?
I doubt it. Gotta save my pennies to get back in a Vette sooner. I think it's the only thing that will keep me from any bling mods.

Sup Jason, we tried to get by with the Infiniti but with 3 kids, all in car seats and a very small cargo area, it just wasn't going to cut it for the longer commutes/trips, which in Southern California, that means just about any commute. It was a tough decision, but I had to put the family first. Besides, the wife felt bad about it so I will use that guilt to my advantage. We already agreed that I will be back in a Vette in a few years so I just have to wait. Come to think of it, I'd better get that in writing...

I'll take two! I've seen pics of the RF Z's and they look great. I wouldn't mind picking up a used white Z down the road, either a C5 or a C6. If I do go with a Z, those are my top two choices.

Steve, I sure hope you're right. The Z would probably be at the top of my list, though I would love to have a Vert again so we'll see what the market's like in a couple of years and take it from there.
With 56 years of experience, I can only say this. It is amazing the things we parents do for our kids that often seems to go unnoticed or worse, noticed and unappreciated. Giving up our dreams is something we have all done for our kids/spouse, I suspect. I know I have done so only to have my kids look at me like I was an idiot for dreaming in the first place.
With that melancholy note out of the way, I hope you will recapture your dream as soon as you can. Nothing is to be gained by waiting until you are too old to enjoy it...do it while you are young. Wish I had followed my own advice. I love my Vert...wish I had bought one when I was 25.

Juan,
sorry to see you sold the vert it was one of the best looking vettes on the forum
I do understand that family does come first and the family hauler you got looks great and will do the job just fine so save your money and we hope to see you back in a vette in a couple of years.

LT I know what you mean. I have to admit I have been guilty of not appreciating the sacrifices my parents made for me and have worked to rectify that. I considered myself very fortunate to have purchased my Vert at the age of 29 and even then, I didn't do it until I'd bought my home and planned for my kids' college education and hopefully early retirement. I don't doubt that I'll get another Vette in a 2-3 years, so in the meantime I'll continue to enjoy the Vette experience through all of you.

Randy, thanks for the kind words. You have no idea what a tough decision it really was. I have to admit I felt like someone had punched me in the stomach when I saw my car drive off for the last time. I'm bummed now just thinking about it but I think of all the great times the family will share taking trips up the coast in the Suburban and I start to feel a little better.

The Suburban did come with the AFM and it's rated for 21 MPG highway, which of course is under ideal conditions. I don't dare to look at what kind of fuel efficiency I'm getting. Just staring at the gas pump as it nears $100 per tank is about all I can bear.
