Sorrow for the families of the victims aside, that ticks me off that they have to include the fact that the car was a vette. So what? I bet if I ran my Bonneville into someone and killed them the news wouldn't say, Bonneville involved in high speed fatal crash. WTF is up with that?

I know it's not logical or pertinent to the tragedy of loss of life, but it is somewhat flattering that the Corvette is mentioned. The media likes to do the same thing -- call out the kind of car -- if it's a Porsche, Ferrari, or some other exotic, so it's "neat" (maybe a bad choice of words in light of the tragdey) that the Vette is included in that rarified air.
