Gauntlet thread take two
Well I tried to post an update, and see that the thread has been locked. Please no more discussions about street racing. Just to recap, we will not be racing on any public highways.
Anyhow, I think I'm screwed. I just got an email from a coworker who was snooping for me:

I found out some stuff about her car. She got it used and the guy she bought it from raced it. Not sure what kind of mods it has, but there are some.

Seriously though I have seen several STIs at the track and very few ran faster than 13.30 in stock form. Who knows what bs mods she might have done to the car. Your M12 gearing alone will make her your b*^ch.

Oughta be fun .. I *do* love it when someone explains to me how my car has no chance against somethin I know is slower.. but they obviously don't.
Bring friends ..camera's ..have friends put money on it, afterward just mention that if the race had been for pinks .. you prolly could have used the motor in your lawn mower .. etc

I still think you will take her. Since you are going from a roll, don't forget to get the RPMs up and dump the clutch for a killer launch. I can't see that Subaru hanging with you on the Top End. It would be to your advantage to change the race to a higher MPH either way. Good luck. Worse case scenerio is that it will give you a reason to make some HP mods.

Anyway, just because the previous owner raced it doesn't mean it's been tricked out. It could all just be a story, too. Rolling start, I'd say you're gonna do fine, especially over 100.

I'm the new kid (ok, old fart) on the block. And I haven't been in a good race; street, track or otherwise in years. (Was a bit loco when I rode my Harley, but that was then...) I try very hard to maintain the legal speed limit. However................. 
I'm a bit dissapointed with all the "rightous" police here. Don't race, don't speed. Good golly miss Molly; peoples does what peoples does. This is the real world. (Why do we mod our vettes....? I spend $$$$ so I can go fast, but I don't....? Com'on!) If you don't like the program switch the channel. No need to tell us about your holiness and rightous opinions. People that race/speed know full well the chances they take and the consequences to themselves and the innocents. Throwing rocks ain't going to change a damn thing. Take a chill pill and move on. That's just my opinion.
