Default Love hate relationship with vette

Now that I'm most likely selling my 97 here in about a week or so, I'd just like to say its been a love, hate relationship with this thing. Really fun to drive somedays, other days I just want to watch it burn to the ground. The car looks great, a blast to drive on a sunny day, but there are just so many things to go wrong with it, and the prices on simple parts for this thing like a tire pressure sensor or even parts for the headlights are obscene. Well, at least I'll still have my white 79 that I own, it seems to have a lot less problems, and the ones that it does have are cheaper to fix.

I guess I've been fortunate since I haven't had anything major go wrong yet. Good luck with your next endeavor

Hasta la Vista - baby!

I have a '98 - and I love the car. It has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. I have replaced tire pressure sensors when one failed, had a new clutch installed at 56K miles (I'm the third owner and I don't know what kind of abuse it took before me), an oil pressure sensor, and the gears in the headlight motors....that's it.

I hope you have a great time with your '79!

Sorry you've had so many problems with your '97. At least you will still have a Vette in the garage when you get rid of the '97.

isn't anything worth having "high maintenance" on some level?

IMHO, high maintenance car much easier to deal with than high maintenance female. At least you're still in charge.

I would have to agree with you. I have contimplated selling my 2000, but Im not sure yet. I love the car somedays and its an absolute blast, other days.......... not so much.... Always have to clean it and detail it and have to watch who you are behind because they throw rocks and stuff. Just gets annoying after a while... and parts are ridiculous for these cars. I need two TPS and they are around 103 bucks a piece!!!

I understand what you are saying you would think things would be a little better quality for the price you pay for these cars

The car is 10 years old!! Just replace what you need to , take your time and shop around for the best new/used prices. It's not like you don't have another car to drive
