Fixing pad taper - will this work???

First problem was boiled fluid - which I have resolved by flushing the entire system with Motul 600.
Second problem is pad taper - which I am in the middle of trying to resolve.
I am removing the pads and rotors on every corner and buffing the glaze off both the pads and the rotors. When re-installing the pads I am swapping the inside with the outside. My thinking on this is that the thicker portion of the pad with less taper will now take more punishment than the lower side. This will slowly but surely get the pads to an even kilter before starting to taper in the opposite direction again.
Anybody tried this or have thoughts???
