So I've recently developed a slow leak in my left rear tire.
I decided to call the dealership to see if they could squeeze me in today and patch it up. I asked them how much and they said it will be over $100!
I was like, that can't be right..... The Goodyear place up the road quoted me $40, which I thought was high! The "stealership" just gave me a whole spiel that it's a corvette and they had to do special things.
It's
What are these guys smoking? I would have paid as much as $50 but over $100?.... give me a break!

I'm not sure of the cost here in Colorado Springs. In any event, I'd call around. Seems like any place that would sell and appropriately mount Corvette tires would be able to repair a leak...and for less than $100. Ask local Vette club members for their recommendations.
Once I found a well-recommended place and had the work done, I'd e-mail GM and let them know your concerns along with copying the dealership. Let them both know your concerns about their service doing "special things" to the Corvette. Funny thing how electonic communications have changed the way we do business.
I might as well just take it to the Goodyear shop and be done with it.
I feel more comfortable letting them handle it believe it or not.
They only sell Goodyear tires and have a machine for mounting run-flats.... I'm just concerned about how they are going to lift/jack it
I'll try to make a long story short, when I had a C4 I got a nail in it in VA, on a trip from NJ to FL. Spare was also flat A tire place in VA fixed it for free
I have had two flats repaired by Discount Tires in Poway, CA; one just last week. They unmounted and both patched and plugged them and rebalanced them (polished aluminum thin spokes - 04 coupe) including removal and reinstallation. These are original equipment and not purchased from Discount.
You're lucky they patched it all! Most tire shops around here won't even consider patching a "Z" rated tire anymore. They are all afraid of getting sued if the tire fails and someone gets injured/killed.
repairs are free if you buy your tires at COSTCO or Sam's Club...
In fact when you pay your $9.99 mounting balancing fee at Sam's Club, you get lifetime road hazard warranty, if they can't fix it, they replace it...

I was thinking that (and not that I think this is proper) it's possible that the Stealership may charge an hour's time for any repair even one that takes less than an hour. One hour minimum= $100.
I have developed a slow leak in right rear also. Peachtreeplaya's C5, you like Vannoy's? I've had several iseues with them, check your lug nuts, ask me how I know.
I paid Goodyear $37. Carefully lifted the car, removed nail, patched inside of tire (correct procedure) and finished in about 15 minutes. Satisfied customer, just from watching them know how to properly lift the car.
