Default Codes Codes and more Codes :-(

I am just now getting every code on the DIC; Example - power down, shock inop, service vehicle soon, low fuel etc. Also the car will not go passed 81mph!

Is this something that will just go away or a bottle of Techron will cure up? Does this mean $$$ will be going out to the dealership? Never had this issue with 19K on the odometer and it's a manual.

Thanks,
TonyP.

I had that happen on my 2000 coupe - it was caused by a BCM that had gotten wet. The BCM is located in the passenger footwell fusebox. Check for dampness in the footwell.

sounds like the BCM (body control module) is fried, or you could possibly have a bad ground or battery issue.

How do I go about changing the BCM? Is this something I can do? The battery is new and their is no dampness in that area?

Thanks,
TonyP.

First thing I would do with random messages like that is change the battery.

Saw all sorts of strange codes when the battery was close to quittting. Also good counsel to check grounds; very sensitive area on all cars these days, most certainly our C5s. Lots of information in this forum, diagrams and instructions, about cleaning grounds.

Battery is brand spanking new! I will have to search ground cleanings!

Thanks
