I went to start my 98 vert today and discovered that not only was the battery dead, but it has seemed to have leaked and is now stuck on the tray. Does anyone have a reasonably easy way to get this out?
Thanks!
The first thing to do is pull out the battery and see how much acid has got onto the tray. Just give it a good tug and it'll come free. Then open up the fender liner and check to see if the acid has leaked into the area of the BCM. If not give the whole area of the tray a good washing down with an alkaline solution. Baking soda is a good choice. Hopefully its not got to the wiring otherwise you may start to get strange random electrical problems
Don't tell me it was an AC Delco battery I had one do the same to me on the Camaro. Luckily I caught it before it damaged the car.
You'll then need a new battery. Go for an AGM type, Optima dont leak. A battery mat may be a good idea for the future.

Good advice. I think DeeGee means PCM, rather than BCM. Critical to make sure no acid has leaked onto it.
