Headlight bulbs

Just curious... whats a good BRIGHT bulb for stock headlights?

Toshiba HIR.

Low beam

High beam

I'm also running high beams in the low beam sockets. Never been flashed by oncoming traffic yet...

where can I order the Toshiba HIR, and is there any modding that needs to be done to it?

BEST place to buy them is on that famous auction site. There's a guy who sells them there in both low and high beam. If you want to run low beams in the high beam sockets, you will need to mod the bulbs slightly. Very easy to do with or without a Dremel tool. Otherwise, straight swap. BTW, I had Silverstars and prefer these by a wide margin. But to be fair, I have not tried the new Silverstar "ultras". I just chose to go with these and never looked back. I've been completely satisfied with the light output.

Lot less expensive

While they only last about a season you can sure replace them at will for the price.

You may want to check into the "plug-n-play" hid kit that a forum supporter sells. Like a 6000k or 8000k would be pretty bright....Just a suggestion. I think it runs about $300
