Windshield washer motor gremlin?

Windshield washer motor gremlin?
Anyone had this happen? driving the Z on Sat to a local show and the windshield washer starts shooting water all over the glass, I think I must of hit the button by mistake
but no the thing keeps on going like the E-bunny and the washer fluid tank goes dry and it's still going I kept playing with the mist button until it stopped but something must be wrong could it be the swicth? has this happened to you? it was kinda funny but I really do need to figure out the problem and get her fixed.
Taking the Z instead of the coupe to the B-Day bash this year so the clock is ticking for me to fix this.

I had the exact same problem with my 02. I ended up replacing the washer stalk and that took care of the problem. The dealer wanted something like $175, but I found a brand new AC Delco stalk on ebay for about $100. Good luck!
