Security Light Flashing?

Can someone do me a favor? When you unlock you car with remote, then get it(or not) and leave the door open. Does the security light flash? Mine is, but cant remember if that is normal
I went to start the ride last night and had trouble getting the key to go into the ingnition. Turned the steering wheel, all of that good stuff. Finally got it to go in, then had trouble turning key. Finally turned, but then no start. I dont know if the something mechanical tripped, and now secuirty system is keeping it from starting? I cant remember, but, does the security light flash whenever you unlock, car, then keep the door open? I can lock it with the remote, and unlock it, but still no start.

Mine flashes til you put the key in.Sounds like a problem with the cylinder.

The flashing light is perfectly normal. Mine does it too.

Don't get mad but do you have the correct key. I had a similar problem but was trying to use my Avalanche key.

Yeah, its the correct key. I even tried my second key and the same thing. I think something misaligned, maybe that why my key would not go in. Then maybe the sensor that reads the chip got damaged when I Oh so carelfully forced the key in. 5 years and first problem Ive ever had with it.

Happened to me and the problem was the chip in the key itself that moves a little from side to side.
push it back to correct spot and the security light will go out...
