Was just over at C5 Tech and started to get depressed at all the problems people are having. I dread the day my windows wont go up or down, my car starts leaking stuff, my valve springs go bad or even if my check engine light comes on.
On the day when your window won't go down, and you give the door a little percussive maintenance, and then the window works again, you'll feel like a million bucks!!!!!
I've only been on this Forum since mid January 07, when I got a 98 6-speed coupe with 44k miles. Knowing human nature to a small degree, I'm thinking we read about most all problems, but don't read about most good things about the C5, so the negatives greatly outweigh the positives. I keep this in mind whenever I go to the Tech Forum, and am very thankful for the help everyone provides on these various Forums. My two cents.
But, on the positive side, I really learned a lot about these cars by reading that section, and fortunately the only problem I've had so far (on an '02) was a dead battery.
Well... I owned a 1985 Nissan 300zx for 15 years and never once had power windows or door locks go out or any other stupid problems other than required maintenance that incurred with mileage... credit to Japanese cars.
But, even with the problems you mention (and yes, I already fixed on my own the power door lock problem thanks to bakersfield and ronj), I still love the looks, the performance, and the thrill of my C5... all worth it in my opinion

I dont think I can go there anymore.
:Sigh:
You want true depression? Take your car to the "Stealership" everytime something goes wrong or you need preventive maintenance done. You keep your vette long enough, I guarantee you'll be thankful its there.
You can't afford not to go back
Visiting the tech forum is kinda like visiting the hospital to see a sick friend....not exacty a happy experience at times but you're usually glad you went!.....I think I'v saved a lot of "lurning curve" time there as well as a hell of a lot of money! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS!!!!THANK YOU!
