Correct they will be getting a great deal... and that is fine by me.. to answer the shroud question... buddy of mine gave me his shroud from one of his vetts... so no hole... 2nd of all.. the quality of the honker is very nice... fact that it takes a pretty long time to install and then to get nothing but problems after it was installed made me angry and frustrated... I figured like every other car I have ever owned including vetts there was never a huge problem with installing simple bolt ons... that includes headers... but this thing has thrown me through a loop... and I do say sorry to callaway for saying this product was a piece of **** if I even did say that... its far from it... the fact that you gotta really set a decent amount of time aside for a pretty simple product is what got to me... and I do appriciate everyones suggestions and what not... when I posted I really wanted to make it work... then I simply changed my mind... no need to name call or what not.. its money... losing a little for a product that is simply put on is what I would rather do... but to callaway... I did call you guys... and the advice and help that was given was appriciated I have just decided to go another route..
The MAF got "wet" from oil, because the filter was over-oiled. Oil particles that you may or maynot be able to see are on those small resistors in the MAF. This happened to my K&N. The small resistor wires in the maf must be CAREFULLY cleaned with iso-alcohol and a q-tip. Let the filter dry out. I'm posting this for the next guy this happens to. Sounds like you were too quick to ditch a sweet intake design. When the MAF is wet, the resistors resistance is wrong. The computer knows it, and throws a code.
I don't get it. Installing headers was easier than installing the Honker? All mods are not easy to install just because they are considered bolt-ons. Consider yourself lucky that you did not get the Varam that is a true ram air through the front nose. You would still be installing it today. Personally, I would evaluate the level of effort involved before buying any future mods if you get pissed off that easily from them.
This is my last comment to SSquid. You are going to install an inferior intake after putting all that work into the Honker, instead of fixing the real problem? You've done the work, why not get the gain you were looking for and keep the Honker? You're just not thinking rationally. Many people, including Callaway, offered you assistance. I just don't get it. Oh well, it's your car. Just be careful with tools.

Fouling the MAF element is definitely possible with a used, re-oiled element but not with a brand new, out-of-the-box element from Green Filter.
