Was leaving work with my wife and the Vette did not turn over for about 2 min.
Here's what happened. We left work and I got in the driver's seat and she in the passenger. I put my key in and put the windows down. I decided to let her drive and we switched. I removed my keys and she put her's in. NO START. Everything electronically worked but it would not turn over. Not a sound from the engine. We switched back, I put my keys back in and still nothing. The brake pedal was as hard as a rock, but after about 2 min. it turned over and it drove fine.
My question is has this happened to anyone or anyone heard of it? Is it a problem and if so how serious? I know that I unlocked the car with my remote but her key went in shortly after.
I'm wondering if this was a security issue. Any comments would be welcomed.
Sounds like her key's security "chip" has the wrong ohm rating or it is damaged. It usually takes a few minutes for the system to reset before your keys worked.

It is a built in feature of the Vette that does not allow the wife to drive the car. If the wife does drive the car she will like it so much that she will claim the rights to the vette.

This is just for you protection and well being
Yeah I've read that before, I think in the owner's manual somewhere.

, it seems to me that if the wrong key is inserted, that the system will lock for a couple of minutes. Any good keyshop should be able to confirm if the resistors are the same between your key and the wife's.
Like the answers. Problem with the wife is that she looks sooo damn good driving it with the blond hair and sunglasses on.
But really, seems to be her key not being accepted by the computer. Why? I don't know. It use to work fine, but it is seldom used.
Thanks - I was having a fit when it would not start!
