Thinking about moving up...
1. How do these cars respond to a cam?
2. How safe is it to run a supercharger on a C5?
3. Is wheel hop bad with the IRS?
4. What kind of trans in the c5?
5. How does the rear end hold up with slicks?
6. How reliable are these motors? Any common problems???

They love cams and with the right setup you can see some serious gains with CAM only setups.
2. How safe is it to run a supercharger on a C5?
Depends, on a stock bottom end you can go about 8psi without any issues, which is around 100-125 rwhp gains.
3. Is wheel hop bad with the IRS?
Wheel hop is something the MN6 guys talk about having alot of, a DTE brace will fix that.
4. What kind of trans in the c5?
Depends on the model and whether it is an A4 or MN6 or ZO6.
5. How does the rear end hold up with slicks?
It is recommended to install harden output shafts when running high hp cars with slicks.
6. How reliable are these motors? Any common problems???
I believe that the LSX motors are very reliable. Common problem is oil consumption.
You will get more responses with greater detail I sure, but I assure you it will be an upgrade. These LS1/LS6 motors are very stout! I just quickly answered the questions.
Take care and best of luck,
Micah
2.Tune is everything with a Charger, go to a shop known for this work...see my sign
3.Wheel hop is an issue, DTE trans brace for insur
4.? too tech for this layman
5.Harden output shaft....stock your asking for trouble
6.H/C had no issues for 3yrs just had the forged motor built/SC too new to tell but I can tell you this.....it's a blast
The MN6 is a 6 speed manual transmission installed in Coupes and convertibles. It is good to at least 450 hp. Rear-end is a 3.42. 6th gear drops to .5 or 1.71 rear, this (along with excellant aerodynamics and low weight) is how you get 30+ mpg on highway.
The MN12 is the Zo6 transmission, it has different gear ratios, lower for better acceleration. Rear-end is 3.42 (shot peened for more torque capacity), but gearing makes it a 3.70 in first gear.

It is night and day x 1000. No more boxey feel, 1st gear actually has a purpose... The C5 is great!
The LSx motors respond 100 times better to mods too. As a mustang owner you know it is like pulling teeth to get some HP out of those cars
