For those that have "weekend" cars with CCWs, how hard are they to keep clean (505a)? My Z is only out on good weather days. I have contacted John at CCW and he will sell a unfinished ready to chrome wheel.
I would prefer chrome, but wanted to get some opinions on the polish up keep first.
I have the ccw's 505a's and let me tell ya! there is ALOT of polishing involved to keep those suckers clean! If your'e single it's great for the wrist if not you need more practice

If you drive your car as you mentioned...it'll be a piece of cake. I drive mine similarly and sealed them w/Poorboys before I put them on...haven't needed a polish in 5 months. I simply clean w/ClearKote and they continue to look like new.
I have had a set of high polished aluminum wheels, and was able to keep them sparkling for just over a year, then neglected them for a couple of months (unprotected no wax) well they were toast. Needed a complete repolishing, not just by hand, had to be professionaly done.
You have to upkeep these wheels and not get behind on the polishings or they won't look like they should.
Another reason why I am hesistant on getting these sweet wheels (and why some are selling)
if you want to keep them shining it is a lot of work. if you drive only in good weather the brake dust will still get you. if you drive in the rain, forget about it.
It depends on how **** you are..and what weather you drive your car in. You said your car is a weekend driver, and pretty much sees nice weather? If you get Polished wheels you will be fine. It's not quite as bad as everyone says. Yes it does require extra work.
What I normally do is when I am driving the car every day, I hit the wheels with Detail Spray (Meguires) about 2 or 3 times a week, just a quick once over to help with the break dust build up. When I wash the car I just use the Meguires car wash soap and clean and dry right away(with microfiber towel of course).
I polish mine about once every other month and they look fine. Yes extra work, but if you keep up with them it's not that bad.
Chrome is great if you want to pay an extra 1k, plus if you curb the wheel have fun repairing it.
I use Master Formula on the wheels, D1SC, Fuel Rails, Exhaust Tips, Etc..... Anything that needs polished, I use this product! ! Its awsome and easy to use!
