If you can include your family in your obsession then at least you are doing it together---and out 15 year old has one too---so we all obsess over hers as well..It's a family obsession

What was that thing about "playing together" equals "staying together"?? This is so cool that you all are obsessed! It is indeed contagious!

From the Church of the C5, The Reverend Silvetbullet00 says "Lighten Up Our Son". In this crazy terrorist and liberal filled world WE all need a nobrainer distraction or two! It is good that you know how to search your own soul. Sounds like, at least to me that you are very aware of your world. Don't discount that and do what You need to "fix" the things that You are concerned about. Having a passion for a car is no different than having a passion for oil painting, poetry, etc. The God I believe in gives me and it seems You the ability to do great things. Try taking a under advantaged kid for a ride in your Vette and see what I mean! Your "Guilt" will go away when you share! Besides think about the jobs, taxes, etc., generated by the "love" we have for our cars.

A lot of honesty spoken here. I consider any car enthusiast to be a "Hobbyist." I've been involved in a few hobbies and have found that to be a true hobbyist you pretty much are "obsessed" with it. Any one else bought an automobile for just transportation. I myself am a Car Enthusiast and hold my God and Family in the highest of priority, But have to admit our Vette is #3 on the list.

I love my s/o but sometimes honestly she is a PITA. Nothing gives me as much pleasure as driving by myself on a hot day with the tunes blarring and the top down. My car is one of the few things that can make me forget all the bs that this world has to offer. I know that it is bottem line, just a car, and to tell you the truth I think that any sportscar that is a convertible and somewhat fast would offer me the same pleasure but as for now, this is what I got and it does me just fine. All that I need now is a nice golden lab or German sheppard.

I love my girlfriend and all. But after my past relationship failures, if she makes me choose between her and the C5...

Fortunetly she loves cars too(owns an 06' Viper and is looking for an 07' C6) so that shouldn't ever happen.
