Air Injection Reation pump or AIR pump for short is what blows fresh air into you exhaust during the first minutes of cold starting to help light off the cats sooner to keep emissions down. Without that in place, uncontrolled fresh air is getting sucked into the exhaust manifold causing it to backfire. You need to reinstall it or block off the AIR ports in the driver and passenger-side exhaust manifolds and delete it from the PCM using tuning SW or have a local tuner do it for you.
Easiest, most prudent thing to do is have the dealer reinstall it for you. It goes just behind the front fascia on the driver's side.
