Headers made my bullets sound deeper. After I removed the cats, I got a more "hollow" sound. Love it!!!
Also, after the headers I did get a slight sound increase from the firewall, floorboard area. I guess the sound of air moving faster, and through ss instead of cast iron???
I have LT's with a Bassani X-pipe and SuperTrapp mufflers. Prior to the headers it was fairly quiet with a smooth F1 type of exhaust note, but with a lot of noise in the pass compartment. Since the headers (and removal of the pre-cats, but retaining the stock primary cats), the exhaust note is throatier (is that a word?) and a little louder, but the interior noise is greatly diminished.
Sound/Vid clips would be helpful, but just a vauge discription of this would be nice. Does it make the sound more hollow?
What type of music do you like?
If you like mellow jaz keep what you have. If you like light rock, some touring headers. If you like heavy metal, then maybe big long tubes with Stingers or straight pipes.
Sound Hollow?? More like deep American Muscle car booming V8 sound.

I purposely chose my set up because the Corsa exhaust is loud when you want it to be - at WOT. At idle and cruise (gear managed in low RPM scale) its pretty quiet.
Touring typically refers to a milder sound as with the Coras Touring vrs Pace Car set up.
A lot really depends on which cat-back you are running. The Stingers, Bullets, Loudmouths, BB PRT's will sound about the same at idle, but when you hit the throttle is when there is a big difference I think, more deep, throaty hollow sound. Headers will make the Loudmouths and Bullets even louder and more raspy than they are. A lot depends too if you are running cats or not.
The corsas will sound even more exotic and scream with headers.
Longtubes are not for the faint of heart..lots of people that get headers end up changing their cat-back to the Z06 TI exahaust...but then some of us love it loud and it's perfect
Oh, and I don't think "touring headers" exsist, A touring cat-back maybe, like the Corsa Touring exhaust..but not headers...unless they meant shorty headers (which are a waste of money Btw).
Can't wait to mount my LG Pro LTs without cats up to my Bullets. It's gonna be disgusting...
I think a lot of it depends on whether or not you run cats. The cats are more of a muffler than the actual mufflers are.
i had no cats. I LOVE loud exhaust, but this was even to much for me. Way to much attention. Went with TI's....there are cool at WOT, but dead silent. I'd love to have Corsa pace cars
LG HEADERS, BORLA STINGERS AND I WHAKE UP MY WIFE EVERY MORNING BEFORE GOIN TO WORK @4:45AM
BUT THE BEST PART IS MY DAUGTHER CAN HER MY CAR COMING LIKE 2 STREETS AWAY AND SHE IS ONLY 3
I have corsa touring and X pipe. I'll be adding headers, I'm hoping that it'snot going to be too load for me. I only want to hear it at wot. I would love tofind someone with the same setup before I do it.
I have the LG long tubes with no cats and the B&B PRT's and really love the sound. Now that I have the partition it's actually quite comfortable. It was kind of annoying without the partition though, and I like it loud.
