While on this subject, what is the method that is used to make the determination whether you go with 1 7/8 or 1 3/4? Like the original poster (NightmareZ06), I have an '02 Z06, but I have a supercharger. Does that 1/8 of an inch really make a difference, just like on some mid pipes which are 1/2 inch difference (2.5" vs/ 3")?
I am also curious here. I heard that if your over 450RWHP, you shouls go with the 1 7/8 but under 1 3/4. What if im at 400RWHP and eventaully will have 450 -500or more, sould i put that 1 7.8 on anyway. will there be a power difference in my situation?
I searched around and like everyone has said above, 3 are very close so then it comes down to fit and the shop i picked said the LG's were the easiest to instsall so thats what i have.
I've had TSP headers and Dynamaxx Supermaxx *dynatech headers. The dynamaxx where much easier to install! Everything is bolt on! THe car sounds great after 4000rpm --you get a different tone--it's awesome. Your car still sounds relatively stock too. I also have hi-flow cats as well. With ti exhaust. IF you don't need that last 5 hp, go with the supermaxx if you want that last 5 hp--pay 300 more and get the LG's.
Everyone will tell you the headers they choose are the best, just like cat-back exhaust. Noone ever has an apples to apples comparission to back up their claims of sound or HP.
Here are the choices I think you should pick from:
LG
Kooks
American Racing
Dynatech Supermax
and this is exactly why I never reply in these post that ask for "whats the best"
I have LG's but how would I know they are the best. They certainly do all I expected of them and I am happy BUT I have a friend that just had American Racing Headers installed on his 06 Z06 and they also perform and sound terrific. I drove that car the day before installation AND the day of (just after) installation and it was a considerabe improvement in performance AND added a great sound....
BUT, it really is hard for most to give a true "what is best" answer without being able to make legitimate comparisons.

Lots of good choices in this thread. I don't think you can go wrong buying any of them. Like a previous poster mentioned, go with the 1 3/4" for a N/A application. Miles of Smiles.

Think of it this way, if you are moving a lot of air through the car, (supercharger or stroked engine) then yes, you will need the 1 7/8" headers to help evacuate the extra air that comes with the power those combinations make. If you are a mostly bolton car, maybe with just a cam but stock cubes, you won't need anything bigger than
1 3/4" because you are still basically working with a stock engine, just a little more efficient now. You would have a lean condition if you put
1 7/8" headers on a car that didn't need them. Someone can chime in if thats an incorrect assessment, but that is my understanding.
