By the looks of that huge inversed hood scoop and that small went above the rear quarter it almost seems like it would be a mid-engine layout. Is this possible?

uh...no. They are trying to add the appearance of some of the features of the C6R body work. What they should do is actually PUT the C6R body on it which is not as tall in the roof line, longer, and wider and looks a zillion times better. But of course, that would require lengthening, widening, and reducing the overall height of the chassis significantly.
