In a low-fuel pinch at both Cecil County Dragway and Maryland International Raceway, I pumped a few gallon of unleaded race fuel into my 01 Z06 (Cecil) and 02 Z06 (MIR), both stock.
Both cars ran slower ETs on race fuel. So, save your $$.

When I road race, WGI, Pocono, ect I will run 100 octane as a safey precaution. My car is N/A H&C so its worst enemy is detonation at high rpm's. 5-7k on the tach all day long for extented periods may potentially cause problems with lower octane fuel. On the street I will throw a bottle of octane boost just for good measure.
I would have to agree that a run down the 1/4mi or on the street you would not see any difference.
