hey guys when i bought the car about a month ago, as soon as you start the car a Service Ride Control message displays on the dash, so obviously it dosent really work, and after reading the manual it says it will only stay in the softest mode if this occurs, id really like to get this fixed so i can run it on some of the stiffer modes and see if theres a difference
I'm sure its probably alot of $$$$$. Buying the car without it working was a big NO NO. Haven't had the message come up on my ride control yet, but some of the others on here will chime in with possible problems and prices. I think just about everyone changes to Z51 shocks when this occurs since the price of the F45 replacement shocks are nutz (then you dont have any ride control anymore).
its a 2000 couple....i dont think i have the F45 suspension how can you tell? the car only has 30k miles on it also....but the thing is it rides just fine, the suspension does squeak when i go over bumps tho....
any ideas?

If you have a selector switch on the console for the suspension then it is the F45. I have a 2001 coupe with the F45. F55 came to be in 2003 I think. Also it will be listed in the order codes on the inside of the glove box door.
Does it still have the adjustable shocks installed? This is easy to determine, as wires are conntected to them near the bottom. It's unlikely, but the previous owner may installed regular shocks and not taken the necessary steps to eliminate the messages.
I had that happen on my 95, the shock broke and it also broke the sensor, or what ever you call the thing that would change the shock to the different settings
