When I lift up my toneau cover to put the top down, the middle part of the toneau cover rubs up against the convertible top. My question is will the paint eventually rub off or scuff? I only have 20K miles on the Vette.
Mine does also but I am able to hold the top with my left hand/shoulder while i scoot the top in a little more so the cover can clear the top without hitting it.... Does this make sense? The Underside of the top is very soft, It would be hard to scratch your paint but I move the top anyway so it clears.
If you adjust the way you put your top up or down you can avoid rubbing it. It takes practice but try a different position with the angle of the ragtop first...

I've tried that and it still rubs it. I wonder if I'm pushing it up far enough. Last time I put the top down I tried shoving the top up as far as I could so it wouldn't scratch or anything...but no luck.

When you bring the rear portion vertical, try positioning it more forward vertical then straight up vertical. Just a slight difference will give enough clearance for the tonneau to clear it. Experiment a few times while it is in the vertical position moving the tonneau slowly towards the closed position if it starts to hit, reverse and reposition until you find the right spot for yours. You don't want it to continiue hitting as it will create a wear spot on the canvas top.
