We have the luxury of hind-sight and second-guessing their every move, but LEOs have the amazing responsibility of having to make split-second decisions that could easily cost them their lives. As far as I'm concerned, if you get pulled over you show these men and women the respect they deserve.

So what kind of business do you own John?
You deal in life and death everyday? No one said cops were/are Marines... why would you even draw that comparison? It makes no sense and has no merit here.
Traffic stops and Domestic disturbance calls are the most frequently dangerous part of an officers day... they do not know what kind of person they're dealing with...
The cop had you profiled and your kind deserves a closer look. Hahahaa. He's just doing his job and you got to share your story with all of us. No harm done............

I hate to say it, but you must be young, because not very many adults would use the d''k word for someone who seemed pretty cool about the whole thing, he even gave you a compliment on your car and you still though he was a d''k. Grow up! (no offense)...

I agree with most of what you say here. And as far as the Marine comment, look at the forum members name DevilDogII, (a name given to the Marines) and his avatar picture. Thats an EGA (Eagle Globe Anchor) the Marine corps insignia. Thats why I was comparing the two, just figured he could relate.
Now, as far as my business, thats irrelevant. (sp?) I can relate very well however, to a life & death career situation. My father was a New York City (Bronx) firefighter for 26 years. My mom & brother would always be on edge while he was at work 3 or 4 days at a time without coming home & very relieved when he did get home. I dont know what your town is like or how many actual buiding fires you have in your area, but, in the Bronx, its close to a 24 hr a day job......so yea, I know about the life & death career situation.
Now, back to the original post. What is it that provoked the officer to stop him for doing what he did? Thats the issue, not that he didnt get a ticket & everything was huny dory......he was harrased.... for what?
The officer decided this is my day to bust a big time coke dealer cause he's driving a nice car & went down a dead end street? I dont take issue with police men/women in general....only when it seems to me like an unprovked display of power. and dont tell me alot of cops dont harbor that attitude....just like doctors and the GOD complex.
I agree with both sides on this because there are always good and bad police officers. We are all human.
I've been pulled over for no reason multiple times in my different sportscars. With never getting a ticket. I don't agree with you thinking this guy was a dick. He probably could have found a reason to give you a ticket. So that shows you he was a good guy.
The main thing you got learn not to be nervous of law enforcement. A $75 ticket is not a big deal to shake about.

All in all, I would think that was pretty good.
