From what I can tell by reading posts here on the forum, it will help keep oil from being sucked into the intake. For about $100, seems to be a good investment.
I installed my can a month ago and found little if any oil in mine the first 100 miles or so of driving around town. However, we just completed a 1800 mile trip to Bowling Green for the C5/C6 Bash and there was quite a bit of oil in the can ( maybe 1 inch) when I got home. I thought maybe I'd wasted a $100 until the trip, but now glad I did the "can"! Ron
You couldnt be more wrong. I dont race my car or auto-X it, but I will occasionally bring it up in speed & carve up the twisties in my area. I consider this to be normal Corvette driving....not shifting at 7k or that type of thing, but just enjoying some of the cars capability.
That being said, my EE catch can serves its purpose well & collects a tablespoon of oil about once a month. I only drive the car on weekends for the most part.
Just ask yourself if you want that oil in the catch can or pooled up on the floor of your intake, deposited on the tips of your spark plugs & coating the mouth & butterfly of your throttle body.
