I think there is a difference.
I would consider my car "stock", even though it has aftermarket wheels, shocks and a cat-back exhaust, for instance, but no performance-enhanciing mods.
Bone-stock would be as-delivered from the factory.

You obviously didn't grow up in the muscle car era. If it didn't have anything on it that made it go faster it was STOCK -- regardless of how much aftermarket bling was added.Bone stock was how it left the showroom floor.
