Question
I am a new vette owner and new to CF. The information in this forum is unreal! I am getting schooled on my C5.
Is there a difference between "stock" and "Bone Stock" ?? I am assuming they mean something different???

Most of the Forum member's cars here are stock or bone stock. Seriously. Just ask our wives.

Thought maybe it had something to do with no options selected. Different tiers of stock?? Something like that. Just curious!

4 letters difference. I have a compaign going to convince the credit card companies to quit wasting letters of the alphabet, since we have only 26 left. They keep sending me notices that I am pre-approved. They, too, cannot tell me the diff between approved and pre-approved.
Sounds like I need to start hassling forum members who use the term bone stock unless they are talking with my dogs.
Dang, I need another one of my pills!!

Welcome and there isn't a difference, just the way someone titles their "stock" condition on their car.
Enjoy that car!

Stock = the cans of chicken broth in a pot.
Bone Stock = the cans of chicken broth + the turkey neck bone in the pot.
Mmmmmm....Thanksgiving turkey!

I disagree... stock means as delivered with all repairs using OEM replacement parts
Bone stock means as delivered... ie no parts replaced....

True. I was kind of thinking the same thing now.
Bone stock - right from the factory
Stock - Any aftermarket parts removed and replaced with OE parts.
Yeah, that sounds right.

Welcome!
To me "stock" and "bone stock" should mean the same thing. Either you're "stock" or your not. Stock, in my mind, is all factory original equipment.
